Australia recognises Sinovac, Covishield and Janssen vaccines

Thursday 11 November 2021
International students who are vaccinated with the Coronavac (Sinovac), Covishield (AstraZeneca/Serum Institute of India) and Janssen COVID-19 vaccines in their home countries will be able to re-enter Australia when travel restrictions are eased.
Australia recognises Sinovac, Covishield and Janssen vaccines

Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has recognised two additional vaccines as acceptable and safe for students who are currently overseas, but planning to return to Australia.

Declaring the two vaccines as safe for return travellers in the first instance, is a separate decision to whether they are approved for use in Australia – at this stage they won’t be added to the vaccine offerings available to students who are already in Australia.

We know that returning to face-to-face learning has been long-awaited by many students and we are so looking forward to welcoming back returning and commencing students to our campuses and communities.
