Kangan Institute’s English language courses can help improve your English language skills. These courses are designed for both personal development and preparation for direct entry into TAFE and University.
Our levels range from elementary to advanced. New English classes start every week and depending on your level, your study duration can range from 5 to 40 weeks.

Kangan Institute’s English classes will help you develop your language and academic skills. We have students from various countries, meaning you can develop your English and make friends with students from all over the world.
Our English classes consist of approximately 15 students on average. This small class size allows students to study with close contact to teachers for any enquiries. All of our teachers are qualified, experienced, friendly, dedicated and available to help whenever students need assistance.

When you arrive, you will receive an orientation and will be guided on your study goals. You will also receive regular feedback from our teachers as you progress.
Students who successfully complete certain levels of their English courses can take a direct entry to Kangan Institute's courses or at the higher level, you can gain direct entry to undergraduate courses.
Location and Facilities
Our Docklands campus is located in the beautiful harbor-front suburb of Docklands. Adjacent to the Melbourne CBD, the campus is easily accessible by trams which stop outside the campus.
Only a 5-minute walk to the central Southern Cross Train Station it is extremely easy to get to campus wherever you are in Melbourne. Only a short stroll from the waterfront, you can enjoy trendy cafés and boutique shopping outside of class hours.
The ELICOS Centre is specially designed to provide optimal learning environments for students. Interactive whiteboards in all classrooms facilitate language learning and support, the latest resources available, including online resources.

International students can also access the centre’s student lounge that is equipped with kitchen facilities, hot water, microwave and a refrigerator.
Student activities
In addition to timetabled classes, international students can access our student lounge and the computers in the library.
As part of each students’ ELICOS program, we organize a range of educational excursions and activities. This helps students to visit areas of interest as well as to socialise and to use their English in practical situations. The cost of these excursions is subsidized by the Institute.
