This suits an international student who wants university study in Brisbane with a close residential college community around it. St Thomas More College is a Catholic residential college at The University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus, where residents live alongside students from many degree areas rather than attending a separate specialist institution.
Life at the college centres on accommodation, shared meals, study support and an active social calendar, with UQ’s teaching, libraries and student services nearby. St Lucia sits beside the Brisbane River, a short distance from the city centre, and is well connected to the broader university precinct. The college’s Catholic identity shapes its community life, though it is not a course provider in the usual sense.
It will suit people who value living with other university students and want a structured base while adjusting to Brisbane. Those looking for an independent apartment-style experience, or a provider that delivers its own degrees, may find the arrangement less suitable. The appeal is the combination of a residential community and access to a large public university campus.
