Swinburne University Tops Graduate Outcomes and Student Experience Rankings
Swinburne University of Technology Achieves Top Rankings in Graduate Outcomes and Student Experience
Swinburne University of Technology has once again proven itself as one of Victoria’s leading higher education institutions, achieving outstanding results in the 2024 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) survey program. The QILT surveys provide a comprehensive measure of graduate outcomes and student experiences across Australian universities, offering valuable insights into how institutions prepare their students for the future.
Graduate Outcomes: Strong Employment and Salary Results
According to the 2024 Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS), Swinburne has ranked first in Victoria for both full-time employment and median annual full-time salaries among domestic undergraduate graduates.
-
The median annual salary of Swinburne undergraduate alumni reached $77,900, which is almost $10,000 higher than the lowest-ranking Victorian university.
-
Swinburne also secured third place in Victoria for overall employment outcomes for undergraduates.
-
In the Graduate Outcomes Survey-Longitudinal (GOS-L), which tracks medium-term results, Swinburne placed among Victoria’s top three universities for full-time employment of graduates with an undergraduate degree.
Professor Laura-Anne Bull, Swinburne’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Education, Experience and Employability, emphasized the importance of these achievements:
“Our students are better paid and better prepared, leaving Swinburne with the confidence, skills and connections they need to thrive in their chosen careers. By ensuring every learner gets meaningful work experience during their degree, Swinburne students are career-ready from day one.”
Student Experience: Strong Support and Services
Swinburne also ranked among the top three Victorian universities for student support and services in the 2024 Student Experience Survey (SES).
-
Undergraduate students awarded Swinburne a 72.4% positive rating for student support and services, well above the national average of 70.4%.
-
Postgraduate students gave an even higher rating, at 76.6%, again surpassing the national average.
These results reflect Swinburne’s commitment to providing a world-class, connected, and personalized university experience. With more than 50 dedicated initiatives—including academic support, employability assistance, and health and wellbeing services—students benefit from a holistic environment designed to help them succeed.
Professor Bull added:
“We’re committed to delivering enhanced student supports and services, to prepare our more than 60,000 students for success now and in their life beyond studies.”
