What these ETAs let you do

These authorities allow you to visit Australia for short-term business purposes, such as educational or business-related meetings, seminars, conventions, conferences, networking, informal studies, or training.

It is important to note that you are not permitted to work in Australia with these visas. If your primary reason for visiting Australia is work-related, you must apply for a different visa.

Your obligations

As a holder of an electronic travel authority, you must comply with all relevant conditions and Australian laws.

Additionally, you must:

  • Be free from tuberculosis upon entry to Australia
  • Not engage in work that could be performed by an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Not study or train for more than three months
  • Not have any criminal convictions resulting in a total sentence of 12 months or more, regardless of whether or not you served time in prison.

Report changes in circumstances

If your circumstances change, it is important to notify the relevant authorities. This includes changes in residential address, passport details, pregnancy, birth, divorce, separation, marriage, de facto relationship, or death in your family.

Please report any changes in your circumstances through ImmiAccount. If you are unable to use ImmiAccount, you can use the following forms:

  • Form 929 - Change of address and/or passport details - for address or passport changes
  • Form 1022 - Notification of changes in circumstances - for other changes in your circumstances

Failure to provide details of any new passport issued to you may result in significant delays at the airport and possible denial of permission to board your plane.
